Mariserg Anonales

Mariserg Anonales joined Rathbun, Cservenyak, & Kozol, LLC as an associate attorney in 2023. Her current practice areas include family law, probate, guardianship, and general litigation. Ms. Anonales, who was born in California, grew up in Aurora, Illinois as a first-generation Mexican American. Thereafter, she graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in psychology and Latina/Latino Studies. During her time at U of I, she worked two part-time jobs to pay for college expenses.

Ms. Anonales received her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law. During law school, she was elected as the Vice President of the Educational Law and Policy Society, was first a member and then elected Administrative Editor for the Journal of Law, Technology, & Policy, and a member of the Latina/Latino Student Association. She volunteered at the Immigration Project and took a trip down to New Orleans and volunteered at the New Orleans Capital Assistance Center, which is a non-profit that provides legal representation to individuals facing the death penalty. Ms. Anonales worked during law school as a Law Clerk as well as a personal assistant to an individual with disabilities.

Before joining Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol, LLC, Ms. Anonales worked as an attorney specializing in family law, criminal defense, probate, family-sponsored immigration, and immigration defense. She is a current member of the Illinois State and Will County Bar Associations, the Will County Women's Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. Ms. Anonales is also fluent in Spanish.

In response to the stay at home order issued by Governer Prtizker due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Plainfield office is open by appointment only.
